Dental Implant Statistics
40 percent of denture wearers have worn the same device for over
ten years. This increases bone loss.
Survival rates for dental implants and devices for single tooth
replacements range from 95% to 100% for almost seven years. Patients
spend over $145 million a year for denture adhesive.
Dental implants can withstand 450 pounds per square inch of biting
pressure. By contrast, dentures often cannot withstand no more than
50 pounds per square inch.
Since a minimum of five dental appointments are needed currently
to place an implant, every dentist would need 20 appointments every
month for 20 years to treat and place support devices in the population
of those patients that are missing teeth.
