Are implants a permanent and long-term solution to tooth loss?

Generally speaking, dental implants are considered an excellent permanent solution. However, keep in mind that sometimes the implant does not integrate with the bone. When this happens, another implant might be placed in the hope that there is a better outcome. Occasionally, the restoration will have to be repaired. Most restorations, in fact, eventually require some maintenance and replacement over a long batch of time.
