What are Dental Implants?
Dental Implants are titanium-based alloys that are secured into
the jawbone to replace the root of a tooth. Titanium is biologically
compatible with the human body and has been used successfully in
orthopedic procedures for many decades.
Upon the placement of the implant, the bone will start to integrate
with the implant immediately. This process is called typically takes
6-12 weeks to complete. Natural teeth have soft tissue that is attached
between the tooth and bone. Implants, by contrast, secure directly
to the bone.
After total healing, implants are employed to place crowns, bridges
or removable dentures.
