Bone growth and osseointegration

As soon as the implant cylinder is placed into the jawbone, a process called osseointegration starts. This process means that the jawbone integrates and unites with the dental implant. This unification often takes three to six months, perhaps longer. Osseointegration is crucial because, just as tooth roots, it provides the foundation and strength for the new tooth that will eventually be placed on the cylinder.
